The TSM Jain College of Technology, located in Melur Village near Kallakurichi, recently hosted an awareness seminar on the social benefits and applications of drone technology, funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.

The two-day seminar was inaugurated at TSM Jain College of Technology, under the leadership of Ashok Kumar, Secretary of TSM Jain Educational Group. College Principal Eshwaran Thangarasu welcomed the participants. Special guests included Dr. Senthil Kumar and Dr. Vignesh Kumar, Professors of Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, who delivered keynote speeches.

The event also featured Dr. Ramesh Kumar, a senior researcher from Garuda Aerospace in Chennai, and Dr. Preeth and Mr. Santhanam Raghavan, Professors from the Computer Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design, and Manufacturing, Kanchipuram. They discussed topics such as the social benefits and applications of drone technology, drones for welfare, agriculture, security and disaster detection, the positive impact of drones in modern life, and understanding social benefits through aerial intelligence.

Attendees included Mr. Suresh, Ms. Rajeswari, Mr. Mukundan, Mr. Periyasamy, Mr. Veerasamy, Mr. Selvarasan, Mr. Raghukumar, Mr. Aravind, Ms. Kalaiselvi, Ms. Karthika Banu, Banupriya, and professors from all departments. Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Mr. Santosh Kumar, delivered the vote of thanks, concluding the event with over 100 students, faculty members from various colleges, and other participants in attendance.
